Contest Entry: Fataneh, The Mage Hulder Princess

Here's my entry for 's Last Mini Contest. There are two princesses to choose from, the Hulder and the Selkie Princess. I have chosen the Hulder Princess.  I created a princess which is strong, independent and has a sense of responsibility and not a hapless, whiny damsel in distress. She is guarding the lair of hulders from hunters who just wanted to sell hulders to black market. She uses earth elemental magic to protect her people.

There’s a lot of tales describing how a hulder does looks like. This line caught my eye:

“However if she is treated badly, she will remind him that she is far from weak, often by straightening out a horseshoe with her bare hands, sometimes while it is still glowing hot from the forge or even lift up a tree trunk.”

She’s a hella strong!

I intended to create a non-seducer hulder but the name Fataneh means “temptress or seducer”. LOL.  I got her name from John Howe’s wife. I admire them both as a pair of legendary illustrators. I forgot the "h". Ugh!
